I was astonished to come across this wonderful site! I have a myriad of memories of Heather, going back to the mid-1940s and continuing for the best part of twenty years. This is simply because I lived in the bungalow next door to her at Totley until she left to marry John. A yet further coincidence is that I was at King Edward VII School at the same time as John, though obviously in a lower form.
I have the happiest memories of Heather in those days - am just so sad to think she died relatively recently as, from time to time, I have often thought of trying to contact her to discuss "the good old days" (I am now 82) - not sure whether she would have enjoyed the nostalgia though. I remember her Mum and Dad very well - and "Grandma" of course (Mrs Wright's mother).
Not sure how detailed you would like my memories to be, so maybe I will leave it at that for now, but I have many a story. Heather was even directly involved in my taking up the violin (yes really!) in 1948, since when I have never stopped.
Heather was a big part of my life in those far away days...
My best wishes to all,
Robin Johnson
